Big week. Got mostly good news. Made some principled decisions. Graduated to a retainer.
For my first non-technical post on this blog, I published a short speech in Japanese called “The Same Hobby”. There’s a story behind the speech, and another behind the column layout (check it out on desktop, and with a screen-reader!), long story short is that I want to do more like this.
Leaving drinks at the pop-up terrace were very nice. Even the part where an unexpected visitor dropped onto us from a tree, before scurrying off. It’s nice doing this stuff outdoors.
No, don't worry, nobody broke their teeth.
By focusing very hard, for the first time ever, I understood the closing words of one of my all-Japanese meetings. I needed a nap afterwards but I am chuffed to no end.
Speaking of which, new class started. It is, um, a step up. Let's say that.
Friday marked the intersection of several big earthquakes and two typhoons. Reader, I’ll never get used to emergency alerts. So anyway, after work I was delighted to get on a train bound for a place with neither of these things.
The weekend took me back to Nagoya to celebrate a birthday with karaoke and yakiniku. Somehow I made it through the first few screens of That Song™ but had to bail. OMG is it fast???? Crawled Sakae. Nagoya is a very fun place to be.
My RSS reader side-project is going well, so well that I used it exclusively all week. Some small bugs, but I like being able to tweak its behaviour to this extent.
Yes, don't worry, I remembered to buy omiyage this time.
