Most of my time this week went into goal-setting and on learning Japanese.
On goal-setting: This was both attending training, and writing/reviewing goals for my department. Nearly there.
On learning Japanese: I have been trying new tools and routine to see what works well, did orientation for my new classes, and have formally verified out that I am now somewhere between N5 and N4! And unexpectedly I played the role of translator on Friday.
It felt like every day this week I got a different bit of good (or big) news from my friends' lives, which really made the week.
Voice is mostly back, but I will be a bit more careful for the coming weeks. I have this nagging suspicion that my skincare meds are related!
I really like that park we go to sometimes.
The new blender arrived and it has a grater attachment. So: I bought a block of gruyère, put the whole thing through the blender and made a croque monsieur. Reader, inexplicably I do not enjoy grating cheese, so this is game-changing.
Speaking of blending: I am building a feed reader, so I can build a timeline which balances the signal ratio of the sites I follow. Some I read religiously (i.e. weeknotes), and others I skim (i.e. press releases), but I find it hard to track both. Feed-fetching is based on DLT, and rendering is a small web-application. So far I’m happy with the results, but I haven’t decided if I should finish/keep it yet!
