Like the sequence in every good heist movie, I’m doing the rounds and reassembling the brain trust. What’s the job? Stealing something precious from someone who first stole from me.
Hosted a departmental all-hands and the time-keeping was ギリギリ. Since it was last thing on Friday, I closed it with the bit I’ve wanted to do since joining this company: “Have a Good Week-End!”
Now the proud owner of a Trader Joe's tote bag. Thanks Danny.
One of the appointments made a few weeks ago was kept: We returned for Kabukicho’s best curry and a few rounds of gin. Never break a promise, eh?
Clocked off early on Thursday to see a World Baseball Classic match: Korea vs. Czechia. Korea scored a grand slam in the first inning, and maintained a healthy lead the entire game so it was no surprise when they won. But considering that Korea’s team is pro and Czechia’s is not, I thought both sides played incredibly well. And we had a lot of fun at the match!
This was my first MLB-style baseball game, and I appreciated the differences/touches. The crowd-cam was fun: People popped-up, noticed that they were on camera and waved to the whole stadium!
Passed along my +1 martenitsa, thanks DV.
Exactly 10 months after the date I tried to manifest it, Paranoid London played WOMB. I went with good friends, and we made an all-nighter of it starting out at a Korean restaurant, transitioning through DIY soju-bombs on the streets and ultimately ending up in a shisha bar.
While they were playing we got to the booth, so now there’s footage of me vibing at the front, whilst admiring their synth-work. I got a glimpse of the book they hand-write their patches into! Unfortunately someone else snapped up the chance to fist-bump them.
Yeah, also, I know the samples well enough that I sang along. I wish GRNDR and Eating Glue were valid karaoke options because I’d ace them every time.
I went to see Drunken Kong in kabukicho the following night, which was also a great time (and again, video footage grrr) but also wiped me out all of Sunday. All I managed to do was eat a (huge) salad with MA.
OK so I feel spiritually nourished for the time being. I wish these had been day-raves because this is genuinely not sustainable. :(
