Weeknotes: Please Don’t Judas Me — Week 29, 2026

  • On Tuesday the cicadas reawoke, officially marking the start of summer. Both heat and humidity dials are set to “high”: And it’s easier to deal with if you stay outdoors.
  • Between the cracks this weekend I revamped my /about page, and have experimentally added a /now page.
  • My recent MCR and DNB phases have come together in the discovery of producer Toronto Is Broken and in particular their live-set at the Camden Assembly in 2025. If you only have 2.5 minutes: 1:15:15~1:17:45. Truuuust me.
  • Wrote my objectives for the remainder of the year, and in what might be a first, I published them for the entire organisation to see. This is an effort to improve transparency, or to “be more spinach” IYKYK.
  • Put together a proposal for a big piece of work which may run for the rest of the year. I’m actually quite excited about it. Three pillars, each framed in OPCDA which I’m using for the first time, allowing me to specify a series of actions and pivots without coming close to waterfall.
  • Completed McKinsey’s Forward refresher course, which had a really thought-provoking webinar, where QuantumBlack shared their insights. It got me thinking about Rewired.
  • Sonder is amongst my favourite concepts. You never know what is going on in someone else’s world and in a big city like Tokyo it’s almost exhausting to consider whilst walking crowds, taking rush-hour trains or even walking the office.
  • Went to the Mita carnival (bon odori) and met the owner of a local sake brewery which was delightful. Followed by seeing Yellow Claw at Zero Tokyo.
  • Writing these en-route to seeing the world cup final. Tonight I am with Spain.
  • Remember to wear lots of sunscreen, yeah?
  • Legend shall speak.
