We begin the week with a fetch quest: I ran around the office delivering a gift and later trying to track down a package, which it turned out had just been delivered to the wrong department. But as a result: Now everything on my is the same colour. Great!
Had a great time at Oimachi Tracks, as promised the view was excellent. Sitting under a canopy in the falling rain brings back memories, it is one of my favourite sounds.
On a fly-by visit to the Apple Store to procure a spare part, one of the store managers recognised the Rings Challenge badge on my bag and greeted me to ask if I was an employee. Apple seems like a friendly place to work. I didn’t explain how I got the badge.
Not me buying the expensive water out of protest for a “you must buy 1 drink” policy. It was Perrier. I don’t understand the hype.
Towards my current mission, this week I finally saw a physio about my recurring running injuries ~ which was a very intense affair involving a treadmill and a lot of exercises “to failure”, but I walked out with a diagnosis and homework to correct both my running form and my general fitness + posture. Chuffed.
Running is going generally OK, thanks for asking. My speed control is the worst it has ever been and I find myself defaulting to to maximum speed for sprints during intervals that are supposed to be relaxed. It feels great, until I hit a traffic light and have to suddenly slow down. But I need to reintroduce recovery and distance runs, which also happens to be my homework. Things are cooling down so night-time running + sauna routine is working well.
Over this week, I am wrestling with a decision which is testing my principles and my risk-tolerance. I haven’t made a decision. I have asked several trusted people. This is time for a pros/cons list I think.
The weather on Sunday was truly awful, so I bailed on the original plan to go to Ultra Japan. Instead we went to Shibuya and looked at some sofas and some art before having Shibuya’s best burger. No sofas or art were procured, but I am still on the hunt.
Feeling the urge to both do more karaoke and to see more art.
For the keen-eyed, an icon has appeared! Thanks to Touya for creating the favicon + touch icon for my website! It’s Super Metroid inspired and I positively love it, it keeps growing on me every time I see it
I realize the irony of maintaining weeknotes whilst shifting myself from saying/talking/telling to doing/acting/showing, but I am trying. I think of these as simultaneously a journal, updates and messages, and newly as a form of accountability.
